Revlon- Aloof

Polishes used:
Aloof- Revlon

I lucked out the other day and found some Revlon polishes for $2 a bottle. (Is there any better feeling than finding nail polish on sale?!) So here is one of them, the icy/shimmery Aloof.

And a bottle close-up so you can really see the details:

I'm pretty bummed that the 31 day challenge is over. I managed 20 of the 30 so I'm happy about that. I've heard some rumors about another 31 day challenge for January with the Purple Crumpet Fairy ladies, so I might just have to jump on board for that. : )

In the meantime though....

The Supernatural (31 Day Challenge)

Polishes used:
Electric Beat- China Glaze
Red Flare- Orly

So I happen to work on a TV show that deals on a daily basis with the super natural, we are talking vampires, ghosts, werewolves, witches etc so I had LOTS of inspiration to choose from! I chose to go with my all-time-favorite werewolf Josh.

So I assume everyone knows that once you are scratched by a werewolf, you become one on the next full moon.... So these are my werewolf scratches.

Season three of Being Human is currently being shot and begins airing in January. Check it out on SyFy (US) or Space (Canada)!
Here is a great clip between werewolf Josh and vampire Aiden from season two:

Artwork (31 Day Challenge)

Polishes used:
Wet Cement- Sally Hansen
Red Flare- Orly
Black Konad
Matte About You- Essie

So I decided to pay homage to Banksy for today's challenge. I started with a base of Wet Cement (fittingly enough!) and roughly sponged a second coat of Wet Cement mixed with a little black to make it a little darker. I then topped it all off with Matte About You. Here is the image I based today's manicure off of:

A Pattern (31 Day Challenge)

Polishes used:
Sapphire Silk- Orly
Chic- Revlon
Celeb City- Sally Hansen

So for today I decided to attempt the fish tail braid pattern that has been so popular recently. I knew watching YouTube tutorials that this was going to be more complicated than it looks! Anyways, this is how it turned out.

Fashion (31 Day Challenge)

Polishes used:
My Private Jet- OPI
Black satin- Rimmel

So today's inspiration was a fashion. I wanted something with sequins so I could have a somewhat glittery manicure so I found this shirt in Google images:

A Movie (31 Day Challenge)

Polishes used:
A Roll In The Hauge- OPI
White- Konad
Black- Konad
As Gold As It Gets- Essie

So for today I used the movie Clockwork Orange as my inspiration. Confession: I absolutely hated this movie, lol. But it has some pretty iconic imagery, and I got to use this new orange I have been meaning to try. ; )

A Song (31 Day Challenge)

Polishes used:
Black Satin- Rimmel
Red Flare- Orly

This has probably been my favorite day of the challenge so far. I was trying to decide what song to do when it hit me: Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones.

The song actually told me what to do for my manicure!

I chose the first line of the song: "I see a red door and I want it painted black." So I did a little red door as my accent nail.

A Colour (31 Day Challenge)

Polishes used:
Wanna Be My Sunshine?- Essence

I guess this is my last little hurrah for summer. I have found myself being super attracted to dark colours lately and I'm trying to fight it with this super bright and cheery yellow! I have bought about 4 different yellows this summer (this is my most "wow" bottle) so I guess that was my colour inspiration for the summer. : )

Watermarble (31 Day Challenge)

Polishes used:
Samoan Sand- OPI
Mermaids Tears- OPI
Planks A Lot- OPI
You Don't Know Jaques- OPI

Not crazy about the colour combo here. I liked it when all the bottles were lined up, but I'm just not crazy with how it turned out. I also stick to brands I know work well on the water so it cuts my options down a little...

Glitter Nails (31 Day Challenge)

Polishes used:
Extravagance- OPI

So here is the stunning polish I won from The Laquerologist. (Her blog is down at the moment, but you can find her on Twitter: @laquerologist). It was one of those polishes that I couldn't bring myself to risk nail art on it because it is so perfect. : )
